What’s next?

Actually finishing the first draft of a novel is a huge feat. There is a massive sense of accomplishment after all of the hair pulling, aching wrists and caffeine overload. What’s the next step after this achievement?

I don’t know about you, but I like to let the project rest for a little while before I get stuck back into it. There are going to be mistakes, re-writes and re-structuring. It’s best to come back to it with fresh eyes.

I’m still trying to find what’s the best course of action once a decent draft has been written. Is self publishing the answer or is it best to go down the more traditional route of contacting publishers?

National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing month is fast approaching. I’m going to be taking part in the quest to write 50,000 words in 31 days.

This is going to be quite a challenge but I feel that I know my characters, plot & can keep refilling my coffee cup to keep me going.

I’m going to plan, plan, plan. Plan my time, plan my story & plan my motivation techniques.

Who else is taking part & have you got any strategies for completing this challenge?
